Why Trust Retire Better Mexico?
Trust is earned through transparency, balanced information, clear limits, and a willingness to tell you when a decision should slow down.
Our Purpose
Retirement abroad affects your health, finances, family relationships, housing, legal status, and long-term security. We believe you deserve more than a sales pitch or a list of inexpensive places.
Our commitment
We help you ask better questions, compare realistic tradeoffs, and identify what must be independently verified before you act.
We are independent in our process
Our research starts with you, not with a property listing or a single destination. For example, when someone says they want coastal living, we also examine heat, humidity, hurricane or storm considerations, healthcare depth, transportation, water reliability, and seasonal utility costs.
We explain the “why”
Advice without reasoning is difficult to evaluate. When we recommend a scouting trip, we explain that ordinary routines—grocery shopping, pharmacy access, night driving, noise, internet, stairs, and hospital travel time—often reveal more than tourist attractions.
We respect different outcomes
Mexico is not automatically the correct destination. A good outcome may be a move, a later move, a different city, part-time living, or a decision to remain in the United States.
We separate education from licensed advice
We do not present ourselves as attorneys, accountants, doctors, insurance agents, immigration officials, or real-estate brokers. We help you prepare for informed conversations with those professionals.
Six Standards We Apply
1. Independent
We do not begin with a product that must be sold. Recommendations should follow your priorities, not the other way around.
Example: A lower-priced town may stop being a good fit if frequent specialist care requires long trips.
2. Educational
We teach the decision process so you can evaluate information independently.
Example: Instead of saying “Mexico is cheaper,” we separate housing, healthcare, travel, imported goods, exchange rates, and reserves.
3. Personalized
Age alone does not define retirement needs. Mobility, chronic-care needs, solo or partnered living, family proximity, pets, driving, and language comfort all matter.
4. No Pressure
We support deliberate decisions. Urgency created by a salesperson, property listing, or temporary promotion is not a substitute for due diligence.
5. Verify Before Acting
Immigration thresholds, tax treatment, insurance terms, hospital services, local conditions, and property requirements can change. We identify the source that should confirm the answer.
6. Balanced
Every benefit has conditions. Warm weather can also mean heat stress. Lower rent may mean fewer nearby services. U.S. proximity may come with border delays and seasonal traffic.
How We Evaluate Information
- Separate stable principles from changing facts. “Visit before buying” is a stable planning principle; a current residency threshold is a changing fact that must be verified.
- Identify who has authority. Consulates for consular procedures, insurers for policy coverage, providers for services, and licensed professionals for specialized advice.
- Look for tradeoffs. We do not present benefits without asking what could make them less useful for a particular retiree.
- Use local detail carefully. Conditions can vary by neighborhood, season, provider, and individual circumstances.
- Update and correct. When better information becomes available, the responsible action is to revise the guidance rather than defend an outdated claim.
What we cannot promise
We cannot guarantee future costs, safety, medical outcomes, visa approval, property performance, exchange rates, or that a destination will suit every visitor.
Who We Are Not
Not a law or immigration firm
We can explain planning concepts and official-source questions, but not determine your legal rights or eligibility.
Not a medical or insurance provider
We can help identify healthcare research needs, but not diagnose, prescribe, or interpret coverage as your agent.
Not a real-estate brokerage
We support careful housing research and independent due diligence rather than steering you toward a specific purchase.
